Emotional intelligence and emotional maturity form the essence of the ability of the frontline manager. A frontline manager must have the necessary emotional strength and resilience to stand firm in the many battles that will be faced in the art of pursuing excellence in peformance and productivity. Drawing on the philosophies of Salovey and Mayer and Goleman, to name a few, this element of the Lead Self Component will help individuals learn how to develop to a higher state of emotional intelligence, enhance their confidence and self esteem and manage those barriers and blockages that may exist in this journey.
