The ability to motivate team members draws upon the leadership skills of frontline staff, but requires dedicated application of a range of theories or motivation to ensure that levels of activity are maintained or even enhanced. There are a range of activities that the individual can employ to motivate the team - many of which are covered in this element. This element provides the frontline manager with the necessary practical skills and theoretical understandings to be effective in their actions to motivate and empower those who work with, for and around them.
